Key responsibilities

  • Full ownership of the communications programme for each client, ranging from strategic input to day-to-day management of tactics (based on the specific needs for each account)
  • Ensure optimal financial management of each account and demonstrate a clear understanding of all financial processes within the business
  • Monitor forecast and plans in conjunction with Account Managers and Account Executives to ensure business objectives are met, on time and within budget. Ensure the Client Services Director/GAD is kept up to date with all relevant information and manage financial issues in a timely manner
  • Thorough understanding of the clients’ business objectives, product strategy and relevant therapeutic area. Clear communication of this to all internal team members, as relevant
  • In depth understanding of the relevant ABPI and NICE policies in the UK and equivalent across Europe and processes that impact upon OPEN LEC’s business
  • Manage and influence senior-level client contacts and maintain positive working relationships, as well as working proactively to identify new business opportunities by networking and researching within existing client companies
  • Highlight key issues to the Client Services Director/GAD regarding key accounts and the account team, as appropriate
  • Lead pitches
  • Ensure understanding and implementation of all OPEN LEC internal procedures and quality standards across all account team members
  • Ensure all account team members take ownership for their business and appropriate levels of responsibility
  • Coordinate effectively and efficiently with appropriate members of the OPEN LEC team
  • Support the development and training of Account Executives, Account Managers and Senior Account Managers
  • Line management responsibility, where appropriate


Key attributes / skills / competencies

  • Ability to work with client and agency staff on a day to day project management basis both independently and as part of the team
  • Pro-actively apply thorough understanding of the client’s therapeutic area and ability to provide strategic input
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare environment and target audience gained through significant experience in a healthcare agency or pharmaceutical company role
  • Approachable hands-on manager, trainer, delegator with strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent project management and analytical skills
  • Financial acumen
  • The ability to distil complex information and produce simple, compelling briefs
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise; excellent time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to create relationships with colleagues in other companies across the Open Health group
  • Competent in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Sound understanding of the ABPI code of practice

Location

Holborn is a buzzing, intellectual pocket of Central London forming part of the London Borough of Camden and the City of Westminster. Right at the centre of the capital, it is a key commercial area situated only a short walk away from the West End and Covent Garden, which provides everything from blockbuster musicals to beautifully staged ballets. Many restaurants populate the area, aided by the surrounding luxury hotels, and the green spaces offered by the likes of Lincoln’s Inn fields also makes up for the distance from London’s major parks.
